Putting two male puppy's together?

I have a male puppy he is 3 months old, he is a mix half rotti & shetland sheepdog, I want him to get use to being around other dogs, my friend has a red nose pit ( I think that's what they are called ) he is 4months old, would it be a good idea to bring my puppy around my friends puppy they are both males.
