Should I get a Border Collie or a Shetland Sheepdog?

I had border collie...it is an awesome breed, but I love them too much to ever have one again. Unless you intend to work your dog (on a farm), or are big into dog sports, I'd go for a less intense breed. They are not good first owner dogs (they are smart, but can be very manipulative) and are not happy unless you have time to engage them physically and mentally every day, for many hours. There are people who successfully keep border collies as family pets, but I really don't think this is fair to them. They need a lot more stimulation than most other dogs.
