Can Old English Sheepdog survive hot weather?

I really want an Old English Sheepdog. But I live in Louisiana. Will the dog be ok? We have tons of shade and the dog will be allowed inside. We have a sprinkler and I would turn it on every day for him to play in. I really really one one!!
