What happens when your flight gets cancelled ?

Im going on holiday on mon 30th may , and just wounderd what happens if your flight gets cancelled because of the ash cloud ? i.e do i have to buy more tickets or do they re-book for me or get diverted , or do i just claim back money of my insurance ? ( i have already checked and im covered for the ash cloud )
